Etching process in 3 dimensions<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n

Precision and complexity characterise today\u2019s medical devices, and this is certainly the case when looking at the manufacture of blades for medical applications<\/strong>. The photo tooling used in photo-chemical etching is easy and inexpensive to change, and so engineers have the design freedom to try multiple iterations in order to optimise and innovate ground-breaking geometries.<\/p>

micrometal's Etching Group developed its photo-chemical etching technology to allow for the exact control of the etching process in 3 dimensions, which facilitates the creation of complex geometries for lancet or scalpel blades in industrial quantities. We also make blades for consumer products<\/strong> such as shavers, where the cutting capacity of the blade is optimised through the use of our photo-chemical etching process. Photo-chemical etching also benefits from producing burr- and stress-free parts, and innovative features can be included while achieving exacting tolerances that cannot be matched by alternative traditional metal fabrication processes.<\/p><\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n
