Stainless steel

The most commonly used metal in photo chemical-etching is stainless steel. Its favourable material properties — combined with the large number of related alloys — make stainless steel the metal of choice for many applications in a wide range of industries.

Typical examples of stainless steels etched by micrometal include:
• 1.4310: (AISI 301)
• 1.4404: (AISI 316L)
• 1.4301: (AISI 304)
• In addition to the well-known austenitic metals a variety of ferritic, martensitic (1.4028 Mo/7C27Mo2) or duplex steels, Invar, Alloy 42,etc...

micrometal’s “Etching Group” etches a variety of other metals with a precision that is unparalleled anywhere in the world. The thickness of the processed sheets and foils ranges from 0.003 mm to 1,5 mm. Just let us know the requirements of your component and we will assist you with material selection.

Wide range of etchable metals

Thanks to our innovative manufacturing processes, a variety of etchable metals and alloys can be photo-chemically etched, such as titanium, molybdenum, aluminum, gold, silver, and copper and its alloys.

  •  Nickel and cobalt materials (e.g. Ni, Mu-metal, HyMu 80, Alloy 52, Elgiloy (Phynox), Kovar, Hastelloys, Inconels, Haynes alloys, Nicrofer)
  •  Copper and copper alloys (e.g. copper beryllium, bronzes, brass, nickel silver)
  • Amorphous or nanocrystalline materials (e.g. Vitrovac 6025, Vitroperm 500)

If etching an alternative (composite) metal or metal-plastic laminate is of interest to you, please let us know. We will be happy to check the corresponding etching chemistries and processability of our etching technology for you.

REACH and RoHS2

We only process REACH/ RoHS safe application material. We only work with suppliers who act according to the current REACH regulations Our suppliers are contractually obliged to comply with the relevant requirements.

Hand-in-hand with our suppliers we can offer our customers a variety of REACH and RoHS2 compliant metals and surface finishes.

In addition, we claim and achieve the highest customer satisfaction through excellent quality. To guarantee this to our customers, our processes are constantly monitored and further developed through strict quality controls. We are certified according to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.
