Aluminum is one of the light metals that is becoming increasingly important in the automotive and aerospace industries.
HP Etch has developed a chemical etching process to machine aluminum and aluminum alloys (1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000 series...).
Typical examples of aluminum alloys etched are:
- Al99,5 (1050A)
- AlMn1 (3103)
- AlMg1 (5005)
- AlMg3 (5754)
- Low weight (thus fuel efficient and more environmentally friendly)
- High conductivity of electricity and heat
- Corrosion resistance
In aerospace engineering, vehicle construction and architecture, etc.:
- Vehicle interior
- Heat exchanger plates
- Dashboard, etc.
